Decide to Rise

This is an article from an agreement I have with myself about how I choose to take on and experience my life, it is greatly inspired by the amazing Brene Brown. She is a woman of great courage and she is one of my greatest inspirations. If you have not yet had the opportunity to hear her powerful message, check her out on TED Talks.

Enjoy.

I resolve to fully embrace trust in a kind and loving universe.

“When you transcend circumstances... you get evidence that you are indeed amazing, and irrefutable proof that what your heart and your mind choose is what matters... you get the deep knowing that life wants you to win. So, decide to rise.” Danielle Laporte

When life does not meet my expectations, I will thank God and the Universe for the opportunity
to grow through lessons hidden and disguised as disappointments and decide to rise. I will choose to
accept any gift that the universe chooses to grant me, even the lessons, and decide to rise.
When staring fear in the face, I will choose to take a breath, let it go and take one step forward.
I am going to get off track, I am going to mess up, I am going to have rough edges, and bad days,
because the raw, the messy, the ugly and getting off track are all critical to my growth. And oh, how I
desire to grow.
And so, I resolve to make peace with the speed bumps and catastrophes, the heartbreaks and
the storms that rage by knowing that I have the freedom and the tools to choose my responses to these
circumstances.
There is nothing so constant as change, when scarcity and uncertainty visit, I will allow myself to
cry, throw a tantrum, face the fear and to really FEEL the grief, without judgment and without shame. I
will embrace my duality for struggle and strength, knowing there is room for both. I am not afraid of the
struggle, because of who I am, I cannot be defeated. I was born to win. Yet, even in times when defeat
feels near I will choose to have faith in myself and in a universe that is kind, knowing that I have always
had the power within me to change. I will always come back stronger, no matter what. I will always
choose back into the arena, I will choose to show up, again and again, not afraid of getting my ass kicked
little bit more, because at the end of my life I will leave everything I am in the arena, knowing I gave it
my all, knowing I dared greatly.
